Girls Basketball

Who's the favorite to win the BDD this year? Twin Valley? Haysi? Honaker? What are your thoughts?

I think Haysi will win the district this year. But Honaker and Council will give them fits.

My thoughts exactly HTF. If the lady tigers dont come out fired up then there will be losses

I think it could really go either way between Honaker and Haysi. Council will definitly be a spoiler, they spoiled Honaker's season last year lol. Honaker's girls team just isn't very consistent, they will do good one game and not as good the next, but its just the start of the season, there could be totally different teams by the time district play starts here in a couple weeks.

Hasn't the group of girls at Twin Valley consistently beaten the group at Haysi the past few years?

And Council, didn't they lose to St. Paul? No way you could lose to a team like SP and then be expected to be strong in the BDD.

Council wasn't very strong in the season at all last year. Honaker and Haysi handled them in the regular season, but they came out and pulled the upset on Honaker in the tournament. Council lost a couple and they won't be as good as last year, but they could send someone home come tournament time. Last year, I think Haysi went undefeated in the district (I'm not 100 percent sure though). TV could have beaten them twice the year before last, but I don't think Haysi was beaten at all in district play last year. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Don't keep up with girls bball that much.

Actually we did lose one game last year in district. We lost to Honaker at their place. It was a tough game starting 3 freshmen and playing away first. I dont think Council will give Haysi/Honaker as much trouble as Twin Valley will because they have more offensive threats. But I could go on all day about girls basketball...
